Joanne Wright, born and raised in England, has lived in the Finger Lakes area for over 25 years. Despite a lifelong love of color and art supplies, it wasn’t until attending one of Howard VanBuren's Paint Along class in March 2018 that Joanne had the confidence to paint and soon developed a passion for watercolors.
When not painting, Joanne owns and operates a boutique real estate brokerage and a mobility equipment company, serving local Veterans. She lives in Canandaigua, NY with her husband of 38 years. They have two grown children and a cat named Winslow. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and watching British television.
Joanne’s future plans include advancing her skills in realistic painting techniques and plein air as well as transitioning to a full time artist at the end of 2021. She is currently a member of the Ontario County Arts Council (OCAC), Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society (NFWS), the National Watercolor Society (NWS) and the American Watercolor Society (AWS)
